Abstract In the neighborhood of a plane stagnation point, the flow and heat transfer of an incompressible fluid are studied. In the inner flow region, the velocity and pressure fields are described by the complete Navier-Stokes equations, and the temperature field is described by the complete energy equation. In the outer flow region, a two-term asymptotic solution of the corresponding equations is obtained. The problem is reduced to the numerical solution of ordinary differential equations. Numerical results are discussed.
