Summary Investigations concerning the stability of rotating shafts under torsion usually are limited to the case with circular cross-section. This contribution deals with a generalisation of that problem in so far as the shaft is assumed to have two unequal flexural rigidities. Considering the system as originally non-linear the principle of the stability in the first approximation is applied. The comparison of the results with the situation known from the shaft with a single flexural rigidity gives rise to some interesting new aspects.

Übersicht Im Unterschied zu den vielen Stabilitätsuntersuchungen bei rotierenden Wellen unter Torsion, die sich fast ausnahmslos auf runde Wellen beschränken, befaßt sich der vorliegende Beitrag mit einer Erweiterung des Fragenkreises auf den Fall mit zwei verschiedenen Biegesteifigkeiten. Zur Behandlung der grundsätzlich als nichtlinear zu betrachtenden Probleme dient die Theorie der Stabilität nach der ersten Näherung. Die gewonnenen Resultate ermöglichen einen aufschlußreichen Vergleich mit den von der runden Welle her bekannten Verhältnissen.
