    Description / Table of Contents: Extractives from Cneoraceae, III Separation Methods for Cneorum pulverulentum and Investigation of the Fraction of Waxes and PhytosterolesThe fraction of waxes isolated from C. Pulverulentum was separated and investigated by gaschromatography. Nine additional compounds were obtained in crystalline form, e.g. Cneorum-cumarin-A, Cneorum-chromone-A, rutine, β-sitosterol (accompanied by stigmasterol), and a new phytosterol 3β,7α,20ξ-trihydroxy-stigmast-5-en. The isolation of four so far unknown sesterterpenoides is described.
    Notes: Aus den Blättern von C. pulverulentum wird die Wachsfraktion aufgetrennt und gaschromato-graphisch untersucht. Neun weitere Verbindungen werden kristallin erhalten, unter diesen Cneorum-Cumarin-A, Cneorum-Chromon-A, Rutin, β-Sitosterol mit Stigmasterol als Begleiter und das neue Phytosterol 3β,7α,20ξ-Trihydroxy-stigmast-5-en. Die Isolierung bisher unbekannter Sesterterpenoide (Terpen A-D) wird beschrieben.

Studies on the Hydrogenation, Alkali Degradation, and Synthesis of ChromonesChromon-A (1) is hydrogenated to give mainly a tetrahydro-derivative and, in addition, the hexahydro-derivatives 3and 5. Its alkaline degradation yields 8and 9. The naturally occuring chromones 1, 12, and 13are synthesized. Structure 15is confirmed for chromone-B by catalytic hydrogenation.
    Notes: Die aus Chromon-A (1) erhaltenen Hexahydroderivate haben die Strukturen 3und 5, die mit Alkali erhaltenen Abbauketone die Strukturen 8und 9. Durch Synthese werden die natürlichen Chromone 1, 12und 13dargestellt. Für Chromon-B wird die Struktur 15durch katalytische Hydrierung bewiesen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Extractives from Cneoraceae, IV Chromones and Coumarins from Cneorum pulverulentumFrom the bark, wood and leaves of C. pulverulentum, the Cneorum-chromones C-H (formulae 7a, 3a, 7d, 9a, 3c, and 5 respectively), and Cneorum-coumarin B (formula 10 b) have been isolated. Syntheses of the chromones 2b, 3b and a partial synthesis of 7d from 7a are described.
    Notes: Aus Rinde, Holz und Blättern von C. pulverulentum werden die Cneorum-Chromone C bis H mit den Strukturen 7a, 3a, 7d, 9a, 3c und 5 und Cneorum-Cumarin B (10b) isoliert. Synthesen der Chromone 2b, 3b und eine Partial-Synthese für 7d aus 7a werden beschrieben.

The acid-catalysed rearrangements of B (2) and C (3) to the cneorins BI (4),II (31), BIII (6) and CI (5), CII (32), CIII (7), respectively, is described.
    Notes: Die Konstitution und Konfiguration der grundlegenden Cneorine B (2) und C (3) wird durch chemischen Abbau, Auswertung der Spektren und Röntgenstrukturanalysen ermittelt. Die Säurekatalysierte Umlagerung von B (2) und C (3) zu den Cneorinen BI (4), BII (31), BIII (6), bzw. CI (5), CII (32), CIII (7) wird beschrieben.
