An apparatus is described for a continuous preparation in laboratory scale of highly pure 98% hydrogen peroxide from a commercial 35% product.The reaction of the peroxide, 100% pure well as diluted with water, with phosphorus pentoxide is studied under various conditions. In liquid ammonia no reaction takes place in the absence of water even if the solution is stored under pressure at room temperature for many days. Mixing directly phosphorus pentoxide with highly concentrated hydrogen peroxide, a vigorous reaction takes place. If the concentration is higher than 90%, in the reaction products only peroxomonophosphoric acid and lower polyphosphoric acids but no tetrametaphosphoric acid are found. Cyclic phosphates are rapidly decomposed by water if hydrogen peroxide is added in larger quantities.

Eine Vorrichtung zur kontinuierlichen Darstellung größerer Mengen sehr reinen 98proz. Wasserstoffperoxids aus dem 35proz. Handelsprodukt im Laboratoriumsmaßstab wird beschrieben. Die Einwirkung von reinem 100proz. sowie verdünntem Peroxid auf Phosphorpentoxid wird unter verschiedenen Bedingungen untersucht. In Abwesenheit von Wasser in flüssigem Ammoniak tritt auch nach tagelangem Stehen unter Druck bei Zimmertemperatur keine Reaktion ein. Beim direkten Einbringen von Phosphorpentoxid in hochkonzentriertes Wasserstoffperoxid ist die Reaktion sehr heftig. Bei Konzentrationen über 90% werden in den Reaktionsprodukten nur Peroxomonophosphorsäure und niedere Polyphosphorsäuren, aber keine Tetrametaphosphorsäure gefunden. Cyclische Phosphate werden durch Wasser in Gegenwart hoher H2O2-Konzentrationen rasch abgebaut.
