Скорость присоединения к связи C=O несколько раз больше чем скорость отрыва атома водорода. получена энергия активации 28.0±2.1 кдж моль−1 для реакции присоединения, пользуясь lg(A/л моль−1 сек−1)=7.9±0.5 оцененным на основе теории переходных состояний.
    Notes: Abstract The reactions between formaldehyde and n-propyl radicals were studied at 333 and 363 K. Addition to the C=O bond was found to be several times faster than abstraction of the formyl hydrogen atom. With a TST estimate of log(A/dm3 mol−1 s−1)=7.9±0.5, 28.0±2.1 kJ mol−1 was obtained for the activation energy of the addition reaction.

    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract Определены константы скорости реакций толуола и его комплексом с атомами хлора (k=5,1×105 л·моль−1·сек−1) и м-ксилола его комплексом с атомами хлора (k=6,8×104 л·моль−1·сек−1) в четыреххлористом углероде при комнатной температуре с применением лазерного импульсного фотолиза. Полученные константы скорости отражают повышенную устойчивость и уменьшенную реакционную способность комплексов с увеличением числа заместителей в комплексообразующей ароматике.
    Notes: Abstract Rate constants for the reactions of toluene-chlorine complex+toluene (k=5.1×105 dm3 mol−1 s−1) and m-xylene-chlorine complex+m-xylene (k=6.8×104 dm3 mol−1 s−1) have been measured in laser flash photolysis experiments using nitrogen trichloride as chlorine atom source in carbon tetrachloride solvent at room temperature. We found that the stability of the chlorine atom complexes increases while the reactivity decreases with increasing methyl substitution.

    Notes: The photolysis was investigated at 313 nm wavelength, 253-529 K temperatures, and 4 × 10-11-2 × 10-9 mol·photon/cm2·sec light intensities by determining the quantum yields of 20 reaction products. Primary quantum yields for the seven primary processes and rate constant ratios, rate constants, and Arrhenius parameters for secondary processes were derived on the basis of the suggested reaction scheme. The dependence of the quantum yields of the four major primary processes on experimental conditions was established.

    Notes: The effects of aldehyde concentration, incident light intensity, and temperature on the quantum yields of reaction products were studied. Mechanisms for primary and secondary photochemical processes were suggested, and primary quantum yields as well as rate constant ratios were derived. Reversibility of intramolecular γ-hydrogen transfer and disproportionation of the radical pair formed in the reaction of an excited triplet and ground state molecule were shown to provide important pathways for radiationless decay of the triplet state.
