Conclusions An improved method of firing corundum refractories in the small high-temperature tunnel kiln of Snigirevka Division of Vnukovo Refractory Part Plant has been introduced. This has made it possible to increase production and decrease the specific fuel consumption by 25% in comparison with these indices for the earlier-installed kilns with lengths of 15 and 17 m. The small tunnel kiln equipped with a combined firing system with ejector supply of hot air to the burners provides stable operation at a firing temperature of 1740–1780°C. It is necessary to conduct investigations on revealing the capabilities of small kilns with an ejector system of firing, for the purpose of further optimization of the thermal operation of the kiln, economy in fuel, increasing productivity, and improving the quality of highly refractory material parts.
