Description / Table of Contents:
Dicyanopalladates(0) and Tricyano(phenyl)palladates(II)Reduction of K2[Pd(CN)4] in liquid ammonia (-40°C) according to (1) leads to the formation of the diamagnetic anions [Pd(CN)2]2- which can be precipitated by bulky cations such as Ba[Pd(CN)2] and [R3R′P]2][Pd(CN)2] (R = C6H5; R′ = C6H5, CH3) respectively. Above -40°C the redox reaction (8) occurs with precipitation of the already known complexes [Pd(R2R′P)4] as well as with formation of the novel [Pd(C6H5)(CN)3]2- ions which can be precipitated with onium ions [R′R3E]+ (E = P, As) as [R′R3P]2[Pd(C6H5)(CN)3] and [R4As]2[Pd(C6H5)(CN)3], respectively. - The structure of the complex anions are discussed in connection with i. r., Raman-, and 1H n.m.r. data.
Notes:
