Summary A decrease is found in the density of the noncrystalline regions after temper-crystallization of poly(ethylene terephthalate). This decrease depends only on the crystalline volume fraction and on the material, but not on the temperature (below 180 °C). Crystallization ends, when the sizes of the noncrystalline regions drop below a certain limit. The number of the crystallites depend on the temperature, so that, at long heating times, the maximum crystalline volume of a given material is only a function of this temperature.

Zusammenfassung Die Temperkristallisation von PETP (unterhalb 180 °C) führt zu einer nur vom Kristallisationsgrad und Material abhängigen Abnahme der Dichte in den nichtkristallinen Bereichen. Wenn dort die Größe einen vom Material und von der Tempertemperatur unabhängigen Grenzwert unterschreitet, wird die weitere Kristallisation behindert. Da die Zahl der Kristallite von der Tempertemperatur abhängig ist, wird die maximale Kristallitgröße und auch der maximal erreichbare Kristallisationsgrad bei einem gegebenen Material fast ausschließlich von der Tempertemperatur bestimmt.
