X-ray analyses at room temperature and at elevated temperature were carried out on block copolymers of oligo(ethylene terephthalate) (OETP) and oligo(oxyethylene) (OOE) with OOE content of 25 and 50% by weight, respectively. It was established that at cooling from the melted state, OETP and OOE blocks from separate crystal phases, whose structure is the same as that of the corresponding homopolymers. The melting temperature and the enthalpy of melting were determined. It is suggested that OOE blocks may also form triclinic crystal phases with trans-conformation of the macromolecules as a result of high internal strains during the crystallization in a solid partially crystalline matrix of PETP blocks.

Blockcopolymere aus Oligo(ethylenterephthalat) (OETP) und Oligo(oxyethylen) (OOE) mit einem OOE-Gehalt von 25 und 50 Masse-% wurden röntgenographisch bei normaler und erhöhter Temperatur untersucht. Es wird nachgewiesen, daß die OETP- und OOE-Blöcke getrennte Kristallphasen bilden, die in ihrer Struktur den jeweiligen Homopolymeren entsprechen. Anzunehmen ist, daß die OOE-Blöcke, die vorwiegend in monokliner Modifikation kristallisieren, auch eine trikline Kristallphase mit ebener trans-Konformation der Makromoleküle ausbilden können, was als Folge der Entstehung hoher innerer Spannungen bei ihrer Kristallisation in einer festen, teilkristallinen Matrix aus PETP-Blöcken zu erklären ist.
