Insulating process by electro deposition of mica. Metallic surfaces with anode potential in a dc-circuit can be coated with mica by submersion in aqueous dispersions of mica particles.Such coatings are high quality insulations, which in a number of cases already are used in electrotechnical fabrications. The following applications in the production of rotating machines are described: 1Insulation of commutating poles, wound with rectangular copper wire.2Electro deposition of mica on the bare ends of wound rotors.3Insulation of commutator connections of large dc-machines.

An als Anode geschalteten Metallteilen lassen sich elektrophoretisch Deckschichten aus wäßrigen Glimmerdispersionen abscheiden. Solche Deckschichten führen zu hochwertigen Isolierungen, die in der Elektrotechnik bereits eine Anzahl von Anwendungen gefunden haben.Aus dem Elektromaschinenbau werden folgende Anwendungsbeispiele eingehend erläutert:Das Isolieren von Polspulen aus Flachkupfer.Das elektrophoretische Beschichten der blanken Stabenden kompletter Schleifringläuferwicklungen.Das Isolieren der Kommutatorzuführungen großer Gleichstrommaschinen.
