Sulphurous acid in aqueous solution is oxidized to sulphuric acid in a special apparatus by irradiation with X-rays (180 kV, 15 mA, filtration 0,5 mm Fe); dose rate (3,0 ± 0,2). 1016 eV/ml· min). It is shown by way of example that in the beginning of the reaction about 500 molecules of sulphuric acid are produced per 100 eV of energy absorbed (G(H2SO4) = 510 ± 30).

Die Oxydation der schwefligen Säure zu Schwefelsäure in wäßriger Lösung erfolgt in einer für diese Zwecke entwickelten Apparatur mit Röntgenstrahlen (180 kV, 15mA, 0,5 mm Eisenfilterung) einer gemessenen Dosisleistung von (3,0 ± 0,2). 1016 eV/ml. min. An einem Beispiel wird gezeigt, daß zu Beginn der Reaktion etwa 500 Schwefelsäuremoleküle auf 100 eV absorbierte Strahlungsenergie gebildet werden (G(H2SO4) = 510 ± 30).
