Abstract:
Notes:
Summary In 3 cases of Cushing's syndrome with bilateral adrenocortical hyperplasia, where the patients were subjected to the “ultrasonic” hypophyseal treatment according to the Arslan technique, the clinical and hormonal observations are described. In all 3 cases a clinical improvement could be observed after 2 months, accompanied more or less by a decrease of the adrenocortical activity. In 2 cases the reappearance of diurnal variation of the plasma levels, similar to that of normal subjects, was observed, and contemporaneously a normal reaction to the hypophyseal suppression test, carried out intravenously with synthetic corticosteroids.
