    Notes: Summary 14 systems of the stereospecific anionic butadiene/isoprene copolymerization were reinvestigated using the Kelen-Tüdős (KT) treatment of data. It was found that the classical binary copolymerization model holds for these systems, too; the level of error is relatively moderate and the reproducibility is better than in case of cationic copolymerizations.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Lineares Polyethylen ist ein charakteristisch semikristallines Polymer. Seine physikalischen und mechanischen Eigenschaften hÄngen sehr stark von der KristallinitÄt (kristallinen Fraktion) und von der Grö\e und Struktur der Krsitallite ab. Eine Modifizierung linearen Polyethylenes durch Propfung von Alkoxysilangruppen und anschlie\ende Vernetzung beeinflu\t die Kristalleigenschaften des Polymers. Zu einer Untersuchung dieser VerÄnderungen ist DSC Äu\erst gut geeignet. Der mittels TMA ermittelte ElastizitÄtsmodul und WÄrmeausdehnungskoeffizient liefern bei vernetzten Polyethylenen über dem kristallinen Schmelzpunkt nützliche Informationen zur Struktur. Ein Vergleich der mechanischen Eigenschaften modifizierter und vernetzter Proben als Punktion der KristallinitÄt erlaubt die Herausstellung struktureller Einflüsse. Zwischen Eigenschaften und der Struktur von modifizierten und anschlie\end vernetzten Poly-ethylenen konnte eine enge Korrelation festgestellt werden.
    Notes: Abstract Linear polyethylene is a typical semicrystalline polymer. Its physical and mechanical properties are strongly dependent on the crystallinity (crystalline fraction), and on the size and structure of the crystallites. Modification of linear polyethylene by the grafting of alkoxysilane groups and by subsequent network formation influences the crystalline properties of the polymer. DSC is eminently suitable to follow these changes. For crosslinked polyethylenes above the crystalline melting point, the modulus of elasticity and the thermal expansion coefficient determined by TMA give useful information on the structure. Comparison of the mechanical properties of grafted and crosslinked samples as a function of the crystallinity allows the separation of structural effects. A close correlation has been found between the structure and properties of modified and subsequently crosslinked polyethylenes.

    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract Сшивка при термической деградации ПВХ была исследована измерением зависимости средне-числового молекулярного веса, гелевой фракции, распределения по молекулярным весам и истинной вязкости от времени деградации. Была найдена линейная зависимость между плотностью сшивки и временем реакции. Лишь одна пятая от всех образующихся полиеновых звенев принимает участие в сшивке.
    Notes: Abstract Cross-linking in the thermal degradation of PVC was investigated by measuring the dependence of number-average molecular weight, gel fraction, molecular weight distribution and intrinsic viscosity on degradation time. A linear relationship was found between the cross-linking density and reaction time. Only one fifth of the polyene sequences formed participate in the cross-linking process.

    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract В термоокислительной деградации ПВХ два процесса обладают решающей важностью: выделение HCl в аллил-активированной ступени, приводящее к образованию полиеновых сегментов в полимерном скелете, и радикальное окисление этих полиенов. Два процесса тесно связаны, т. к. носители радикалов цепей окисления инициируют также последующее выделение HCl. Это приводит к повышенной скорости выделения HCl и низкой стационарной концентрации полиенов.
    Notes: Abstract In the thermooxidative degradation of PVC two processes are of decisive importance: the elimination of HCl in allyl-activated steps producing polyene sequences in the polymer backbone, and the radical chain oxidation of these polyenes. The two processes are closely interrelated as the carrier radicals of the oxidation chain initiate also sequential HCl elimination. This results in an enhanced rate of HCl elimination and a low steady-state concentration of polyenes.

    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract Пониже концентрации полиенов и скорости выделения соляной кислоты было изучено в процессе окисления порошков ПВХ, подвергнутых предварительной термодеградации. Скорость обоих процессов увеличивается с увеличением времени предварительной обработки и давления кнслорода. Была обнаружена близкая корреляция между термоокислительным быделением HC1 и окислением полиенов.
    Notes: Abstract The decrease of polyene concentration and the elimination of hydrogen chloride have been studied in the oxidation of thermally predegraded PVC powder samples. The rate of both processes increases with increasing predegradation time and oxygen pressure. The close correlation between the thermooxidative hydrogen chloride elimination and polyene oxidation has been shown.

    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract Приводится метод, с помощью которого экспериментальные данные по сополимеризации, включая также данные при высоких конверсиях, могут быть обработаны для определения параметров сополимериз ации с помощью простого, графически оцениваемого линейного уравнения. Сравнивая с сбычными ошибками измерений, погрешностью данного приближения можно пренебречь вплоть до конверсий 50%, что, т.о., не оказывает влияния на надежность параметров.
    Notes: Abstract A method is presented by which experimental data for copolymerization can be treated also at high conversions to allow determination of copolymerization para meters by a simple, graphically evaluable linear equation. Compared to the usual experimental errors, the error of approximation is negligible up to 50% conversion and thus does not affect the reliability of the parameters determined.
