Notizen: Summary Bacteroids of 83 strains of rhizobia in the nodules of one of three Lotus species have been examined with the electron microscope. Nine different inclusion bodies are described and their presence or absence in the bacteroids is listed. There is complete agreement between the presence or absence of polyphophate bodies and of prominent nuclear material and close agreement of this grouping with the non-production or production of acid by the strains when grown in culture. The significance of these findings to Rhizobium classification is discussed.
