Description / Table of Contents: Abstract We take up the question of relationship between grammars which has been initiated by G. Hotz. Two new theorems on factorization of arbitrary transformations into embeddings and reductions and on product constructions involving non-lengthpreserving homomorphisms are derived. With the help of these two theorems we can characterize the general relationship of unambiguous contextfree grammars by the relationship, defined by simulations. Simulations are wellknown in the case of normal-form-constructions. A necessary condition is given for the relationship of linear grammars, which is sufficient in the case of leftlinear grammars. A problem of G. Hotz, concerning the relationship of weakly equivalent linear grammars is answered negatively.

    Notes: Abstract In44Ca, the −E2/M1 mixing ratioδ=+0.137±0.017 of the 2 2 + → 2 1 + transition and theB(E2) branching ratio of 3.3±1.0 for the 2 2 + → 2 1 + relative to the 2 2 + →0 1 + transition were determined by studying the decay of44Sc. In terms of a model of deformed excited states the quadrupole moment of this deformation is estimated:Q=−0.23b.

    Notes: Abstract γ-γ-angular correlation measurements with Ge(Li) detectors and NaJ(Tl) detectors provided theE2/M1 mixing ratios of the following gamma transitions: 3 1 + →2 2 + (475.3 keV), 2 2 + →2 1 + (563.3 keV), 4 2 + →4 1 + (569.4 keV), 3 1 + →2 1 + (1,039 keV). The angular correlation measurements were only consistent with spin 3 of the 1,643 keV level. The half life of the 1,401 keV level was determined by delayed coincidence techniques to beT 1/2 (1,401 keV)≦30 ps.

Notes: Abstract By integral perturbedγ-γ-angular correlation the gyromagnetic ratios of a 2-quasi-particle state at 1,513 keV and the 4+ state of the ground state rotational band in156Gd were measured, using sources prepared by159Tb(γ, 3n) and156Gd(d, 2n) reactions:g 1;513 keV 4+ =0.78±0.05;g R 4+ =0.37±0.05. In addition we obtain the multipole mixing ratiosδ 535 keV(M2/E1)=−0.09±0.01;δ 1,225 keV(E2/M1)=+1.83±0.10 for the 535 keV and 1,225 keVγ-rays. The classification of the 1,513 keV state is discussed. The internal field of Gd in Tb metal at 77 °K was found to beH=(−192±16)kOe.

Notes: Abstract The half life of the 206 kev state of Re187 was determined with delayed coincidence technic to be:T 1/2=(5·70±0·05)·10−7 s. The rotation of the spin of the 206 kev state in a magnetic field has been observed in a differential angular correlation measurement with the 480 kev−72 kevγ−γ cascade. From the observed Larmor frequency a magnetic moment ofμ=(5·02±0·06)μ K for the 206 kev level has been derived. The 480 kev−72 kevγ−γ angular correlation was found to be undisturbed in an aqueous solution of ammoniumtungstate.

Notes: Abstract Energies of higherΜ X-rays have been measured in103Rh,natHg and203Tl to test the vacuum polarization correction and the electron screening effect in heavy muonic atoms. For tests of the energy calibration delayed nuclearγ-rays from theΜ-capture reaction were used. The experimental data agree to better than 4% with self-consistent Hartree-Fock calculations of the electron screening. Transitions which are sensitive to the vacuum polarization correction mainly, verify the calculations to better than 1.5%. Comparing all at present existing experiments with latest calculations no significant deviation of more than 0.7% of the vacuum polarization correction can be deduced.

Notes: Abstract The energy distributions of neutrons fromμ capture in Tl, Pb, and Bi were measured applying a time-of-flight technique, using de-excitationγ-rays from final nuclei as a time reference. The spectra exhibit an evaporation part, which is described by nuclear temperatures varying fromθ=1.06 MeV for Bi toθ=1.22 MeV for Pb, and an exponentially decreasing high-energy distribution with a relative intensity of ∼10%, which is interpreted, on the basis of a simple model, as being due to direct and pre-compound processes.

Notes: Abstract The nuclear decay of the 5/2+ 139 keV state to the 3/2+ ground state was observed in muonic193Ir. The hyperfine splitting of the 3/2+ state and 5/2+ state was determined to be 640±100 eV and 1280±160 eV, respectively. The ground state splitting is about twice that of a point nucleus, an anomaly never observed this large. This is mainly due to the different radial distribution of spin and orbital magnetization of a d3/2 proton configuration for which these contributions nearly cancel to zero in the magnetic moment. But calculations including configuration mixing and coupling to a vibrating or a deformed core show deviations. The groundstate anomaly is in line with that observed by the Mössbauer technique.
