Notes: The job shop scheduling problem is an NP-hard problem and conveniently formulated asConstraint Satisfaction Problem (CSP). Research in CSP has produced variable and value orderingheuristics techniques that can help improve the efficiency of the basic backtrack search procedure. However, the popular variable and value ordering heuristics play poor in solving the large-scale jobshop scheduling problem. In this paper, a new probabilistic model of the search space wasintroduced which allows to estimate the reliance of an operation on the availability of a reservation, and the degree of contention among unscheduled operations for the possession of a resource oversome time interval. Based on this probabilistic model, new operation and reservation orderingheuristics were defined. new operation ordering heuristic selects the operation that relies most onthe most contended resource/time interval, and new reservation ordering heuristic assigns to thatoperation the reservation which is expected to be compatible with the largest number of survivablejob schedules. Computer simulations indicate that this new algorithm yields a optimal result ofFT10 benchmark job shop scheduling problem under small time cost

Notes: The paper presented the texture evolution during primary recrystallization and followinggrain growth in the heavily cold-rolled Ni3Al single crystals. It turned out that the texture evolutionoccurred in the two stages. First, primary recrystallization caused the drastic change of the as-rolledtexture. Then, as grain growth proceeded, the texture returned to the same one as the as-rolledtextures. This texture return can be designated as Texture memory effect. The mechanism of thetexture memory effect was discussed based on the analysis of the orientation relationship betweenthe as-rolled and the primary recrystallization textures

Notes: Primary recrystallization textures were examined in the 84% and 95% cold-rolledboron-free Ni3Al single crystals with a Goss texture using the electron backscatter diffraction method. It was found that the main components of the textures in the specimens heat-treated at 873K/0.5h hada 40° rotation relationship about 〈111〉 to the original, Goss texture. All the eight variants of40°〈111〉 rotated grains existed. However, the number density is not even but dependent on whetherthe rotation axis is identical to the normal of slip planes activated during the prior cold rolling. Theratio of the number density among the variants was same in both the 84% and 95% cold-rolled foils.Based on these results, the formation of these 40°〈111〉 rotated grains was explained assuming themodified multiple twinning mechanism where the annealing twinning occurred at the activated slipplanes, followed by the subsequent twinning

Notes: Changes of cell wall components in relation to softening and lignifying of fresh-cut bamboo shoots (Phyllostachys heterocycla var. pubescens) was investigated. Increased activity of phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) was related to a rise of lignin content in the basal section but not in the middle and apical sections. PAL activity was also associated with an increase in phenolic content in the middle section, but not in the basal and apical sections. The softening process occurred mainly in the apical section, while lignification took place primarily in the basal section. In the middle section, both softening and lignification also occurred but to a lesser extent.

Notes: The texture evolution of 83% cold-rolled Ni3Al foils during recrystallization was examined through heat treatments at 600 °C, 800 °C, and 1000 °C for 30 min. X-ray texture measurements revealed that the texture changed from the as-rolled Goss to a transitional complicated one by primary recrystallization and eventually returned to the Goss texture during grain growth. The SEM-EBSD analysis revealed that the return to the Goss texture was accompanied by the decrease of random boundaries (RBs) and the increase of S1 boundaries. The preferential growth of the Goss-oriented grains was explained by the difference in the grain boundary energy between the RBs and S1, based on the observed grain-orientation maps

Notes: Ni3Al has attractive high temperature properties, such as high strength and goodoxidation/corrosion resistance, and is possible to be used for high temperature chemical processing and manufacture. Until now, the catalytic properties of Ni3Al were rarely investigated since the leaching of aluminum from Ni3Al is difficult to obtain a porous Raney-Ni compared to NiAl3 and Ni2Al3. In the present work, the catalytic properties of Ni3Al were examined for hydrogen production reactions from methanol. It was found that alkali-leached Ni3Al showed high activity for methanol decomposition (CH3OH→ 2H2+CO). Furthermore, Ni3Al catalysts suppress the formation of methane, i.e. they show higher selectivity for the methanol decomposition reaction than Ni catalyst. These results indicate a possibility for Ni3Al used as a catalyst for hydrogen production reaction

Notes: Abstract Dianchi Lake is a famous freshwater lake in China, and also an important fishery base of Kunming City. Every year, more than 2000 metric tons of washing powder are poured into Dianchi Lake along with urban sewage, which endangers the fishery breeding activities. Toxic effect tests were carried out on incubation stages of carp eggs, newborn fish and young fish at different concentrations of Alkyl Benzene Sodium Sulfonate (ABS) liquid. It is concluded that the most seriously impaired stage by the ABS is that at incubation, which also causes young fish mutations and high death rates. The safe concentration of ABS for incubation of carp eggs is lower than 0.3 mg/1. This study has an important and practical meaning for the protection of fishery resources as well as for establishment and improvement of water quality standards for the fishery.
