Zusammenfassung Bericht über eine Familie, bei der seit drei Generationen immer wieder Todesfälle infolge maligner Tumoren des Gastrointestinaltraktes vorgekommen sind. Die Durchuntersuchung dieser Familie ergibt, daß nur drei Mitglieder das Vollbild des GardnerSyndroms zeigen, die übrigen, jedoch entweder gar keine Symptome aufweisen oder nur eine Polypose oder eine Polypose und cutane oder ossäre Symptome haben. Es wird diskutiert, ob die familiäre Colonpolypose ein Fragment oder eine Variante des Gardner- Syndroms ist und inwieweit Bronchiektasen als weiteres Symptom des Gardner-Syndroms gedeutet werden können.

Summary A family in which death resulted from malignant tumors of the gastrointestinal tract repeatedly over three generations is reported. A thorough examination of this family shows the complete picture of Gardner's syndrome in only three members, the others members of the family having either no symptoms at all or polyposis alone or in associating with cutaneous or osseous symptoms. We consider whether familiary polyposis of the colon is a fragment or variation of Gardner's syndrome and whether bronchiectasis can be interpreted as a further symptom of Gardner's syndrome.
