Notes:
Conclusions 1. It is suggested to extend the requirement of SNiP concerning the conduction of hydraulic tests of steel penstocks to penstocks embedded in rock or concrete. 2. Embedded penstocks should be tested after concreting. It is necessary to examine the steel shell from the inside immediately after emptying. 3. It is recommended to use a test pressure not less than the design pressure. 4. It is necessary to find a grouting method that does not disturb the soundness of the penstock shell.
