Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Das Prinzip von Gyarmati wird in verschiedenen Arten für Wärmeleitphänomene formuliert.
Notes: Abstract Gyarmati's principle is formulated in various pictures for the heat conduction phenomenon in solid. Since the heat current density and the internal energy function can be given in three different pictures for heat conduction phenomena, we get the nine forms of the principle from which the heat conduction equation can be derived. This formulation has been shown using the generalized Γ picture. In the subsequent section the principle is formulated in proper Γ picture from which three proper pictures namely Fourier, entropy and energy follow.

Notes: Summary An all-glass improved vacuum collector for fungal spores is described and its merits mentioned. The description of the required components is also given. This vacuum collector combines the merits of smaller dimension and greater efficiency by accommodating Conway Diffusion cells in the spore receiving vessel.

Notes: Abstract Frequencies are computed for transitions in the NO+ ion which are expected to occur in the millimeter and infrared regions usually covered by millimeter-wave and infrared astronomy. The emission cross-sections and spontaneous emission rates of the microwave transitions of NO+ ion are presented. The NO+ molecule is likely to be detectable in low-temperature sources whose state temperatures are not greater than 15 K. Transition probabilities and oscillator strengths for the Δv=1, 2, 3 and 4 vibration-rotation bands are derived from published theoretical dipole moment functions, obtained by an accurate multi-configuration self-consistent field procedure, in the1∑ ground state of NO+ ion. On the basis of binary gas phase reactions, the formation and destruction of NO+ in interstellar space are also discussed.

Notes: Abstract The effect of buoyancy force on laminar boundary layer in two dimensional flow and heat transfer along a semi-infinite vertical surface, when the velocity of the on-coming stream oscillates in magnitude about a steady mean, is analysed. Two separate solutions valid for low and high frequency ranges are developed. It is found that for low frequency oscillations the phase angles of oscillatory components of skin friction and the rate of heat transfer increase as the Grashof number increases. For very high frequencies, the velocity field is of shear-wave type unaffected by the mean flow; the phase lead in the skin friction is, then, π/4 and the rate of heat transfer fluctuation indicates a phase lag of π/2 over that of the free stream oscillations.

Notes: The possibilities for transport of sulfur through preformed oxide scales by both solution-diffusion and molecular gas (24) permeation mechanisms are examined thermodynamically to establish the limiting conditions under which each is viable. The results are tested, using nickel and cobalt specimens, and it is concluded that, although both mechanisms may operate in parallel, the permeation of gas molecules is the more dangerous since it can operate over wider ranges of gas atmosphere composition. The permeation of SO2 molecules throu through oxide scales growing on cobalt is clearly demonstrated.

Description / Table of Contents: Quantitative „Softness“ Parameter und ihre Anwendung in der Strukturaufklärung von Bimetalltetracyanat-Komplexen〉2M(NCS)2M′(SCN)2〈 und [Ml6][M′(SCN)4], (M = COII und NiII; M′ = ZnII, CdII und HgII, L = Anilin, p-Toluidin, Pyridin, Nicotinamid, 2,2′-Bipyridin und 4-Aminopyridin) wurden dargestellt und charackterisiert.
    Notes: 〉2M(NCS)2M′(SCN)2〈 and [ML6][M′(SCN)4], (M = Co(II) and Ni(II), M′ = Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) and L = aniline(ani), p-toluidine(tol), pyridine(py), nicotinamide(nia), 2,2′-bipyridine(bipy) and 4-aminopyridine (apy)) have been prepared and characterized. Their structure have been proposed on the basis of molar conductance, magnetic moment, group theoretical calculations, ligand field parameters, infrared and electronic spectral studies. The proposed structures have also been supported by quantitative values of softness „\documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ {\rm E}_{\rm n}^{_ + ^ +},{\rm E}_{\rm m}^{_{\rm +}^{\rm +}} $\end{document}“,. Total softness of M and M′ and their difference \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ \Delta {\rm TE}_{\rm n}^{_ + ^ +} \left({{\rm M} - {\rm M}'} \right) $\end{document} have also been derived by the following equations and related to the structure of the complexes. \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$$ {\rm TE}_{\rm n}^{_ + ^ +} \left({\rm M} \right) = {\rm E}_{\rm n}^{_ + ^ +} \left({\rm M} \right) + \sum {\rm E}_{\rm m}^{_ + ^ +} \left({\rm L} \right) + \sum {\rm E}_{\rm m}^{_ + ^ +} \left({{\rm NCS}} \right) $$\end{document} \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$$ {\rm TE}_{\rm n}^{_ + ^ +} \left({{\rm M}}^\prime \right) = {\rm E}_{\rm n}^{_ + ^ +} \left({{\rm M}}^\prime \right) + \sum {\rm E}_{\rm m}^{_ + ^ +} \left({\rm L} \right) + \sum {\rm E}_{\rm m}^{_ + ^ +} \left({{\rm SCN}} \right) $$\end{document} \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$$ \Delta {\rm TE}_{\rm n}^{_ + ^ +} \left({{\rm M} - {\rm M}^\prime} \right) = \,|\,{\rm TE}_{\rm n}^{_ + ^ +} \left({\rm M} \right) - {\rm TE}_{\rm n}^{_ + ^ +} \left({{\rm M}}^\prime \right)$$\end{document}.
