Zusammenfassung Nach systemischer Antibioticumprophylaxe mit Cefotaxime (Beginn: 3h vor Operation, Dauer: 4 Tage, 4 g/die) konnte bei elektiven Colonresektionen und AP Rückverlegungen eine signifikant geringere Rate an Wundabscessen registriert werden (P 〈 0,05). Beide Patientengruppen waren nach Randomisierung vergleichbar und erhielten präoperativ eine orthograde Darmspülung mit NaCI (ca. 101 mit Paromomycin 1 g/1). Die Wundinfektionsrate in der Kontrollgruppe (n = 29) war 28%, in der Testgruppe mit Cefotaxime (n = 31) 6,4%. Trends in einer geringeren Rate an Anastomosendehiszenzen und Harnwegsinfekten waren in der Testgruppe erkennbar, aber nicht signifikant.

Summary Following antibiotic prophylaxis with Cefortaxime (Begin: 3h before operation, duration 4 days, 4 g/day) in elective colon resections and closure of loop colostomy, a significantly lower rate of wound abscesses could be registered (P 〈 0.05). Before the operation, both groups, which were comparable after randomization, received an orthograde intestinal lavage with NaCI (approx. 101 with paromomycin 1 g/l). The rate of wound infection in the control group (n = 29) was 28%, in the test group with Cefotaxime (n = 31), 6.4%. A trend toward a lower rate of anastomosic dehiscences and urinary tract infections was recognizable in the test group, but not significant.
