A theoretical study of oscillatory flow in a curved annular pipe is presented. The equations of motion are expanded in powers of a nondimensional radius ratio ε and the linearized equations are solved for the cases of small and large frequency parameter α. It is shown that the presence of the axial core affects essentially the flow and the wall shear stress. In addition, and only when α is large, the secondary flow exhibits a large number of vortices, depending on the phase and on the size of the annular gap.
