    Notizen: Abstract. Conventional post-processing of digital subtraction angiography (DSA) by 3D spiral CT, 3D MRI and 2D DSA is often hampered by extended artefacts due to patient movements during examination. In this paper an image registration procedure prior to the digital subtraction is introduced allowing an enhanced visualization of the contrast agent. The object displacement is detected by analysis of image deformations in small local regions. The motion pattern is used to compute a new synthetic mask of maximum congruence with the contrast medium image. This new mask image is then used in the subsequent subtraction. The algorithm works fully automatically and does not need any interactive placement of landmarks. Results obtained from subtraction of uncorrected and corrected sequences were compared with each other. The registration procedure provided good results in the suppression of subtraction artefacts and in the enhancement of vascular structures. Results are presented from subtraction of 2D and 3D data from CTA, MR mammography and coronary angiography.

    Notizen: The general description of steady shear melt viscosity as a function of shear rate for polyethylene, containing any level of long chain branching, in terms of molecular structure is reported. A model, developed previously by B. H. Bersted for the prediction of rheological properties from the molecular structure of linear materials, and which has been subsequently modified by Ram and Pedersen for application to highly branched low-density polyethylene, is extended to describe the flow behavior of branched high-density polyethylene. The description of the branched high-density polyethylenes, which characteristically show dramatic viscosity enhancement relative to linear polyethylene, is effected by considering these materials to be blends of branched and linear species. A logarithmic rule of mixtures was found adequate at all shear rates for the description of blends of branched and linear materials.

    Notizen: Investigations of the Synthesis and Properties of Amphiphilic PolymersBy reaction of propylene/maleic anhydride copolymers with the sodium salt of α-dodecyl-ω-hydroxy-trioxyethylene ionic polymers with different shares of long aliphatic side chains were prepared. The properties of these amphiphilic polymers were studied. Like micelles they are able to solubilize nonpolar probe molecules (N,N-dimethyl-aminoazobenzene). Viscosity measurements show the dependence of the conformation of the polymeric chain in solution on the share of aliphatic side chain and the degree of protonation. The polymers from micelle-like aggregates. It is supposed that the polymer with a high share of aliphatic side chains froms several local aggregates per polymer chain, while the polymer containing only few side chains seems to form intermolecular aggregates between different polymer chains. These investigations were performed with pyrene as probe molecule. Pyrene was also used to examine the micropolarity of the aggregates. Like polyelectrolytes the amiphilic polymers are able to cause the aggregation of opposite charged dyes (thionine).

    Notizen: Synthesis of 2-Amino-Substituted 4,5-Dihydro-1,3-thiazoles.The reaction of 2-substituted 4-methallylthiosemicarbazides 1 with carbonyl compounds catalyzed by weak acids gives thiosemicarbazones 2 and 1,2,4-triazolidine-3-thiones 3. By contrast under strong acidic conditions the reaction occurs by electrophilic cyclisation with participation of the methallyl and thiono groups, and 4,5-dihydro-1,3-thiazoles 5 are formed after neutralisation. The electrophilic cyclisation of N-methallyl substituted thioureas 6 and 1,4-disubstituted thiosemicarbazides 7 is also described.

Reaction of secondary amines or alcohols under catalysis by tert. amines gives numerous 2-dialkylamino- (3a-w) or 2-alkoxy-6H-1,3-thiazines (4a-p).
