    Notes: Abstract The observation of a large number of particle trajectories in a transversi single wire HGMS has made possible the experimental determination of the critical capture radius. Both the trajectories and the capture radius were found to be in good agreement with calculated values obtained by numerical means using a laminar flow model.

    Notes: Abstract The trajectories of para-and ferromagnetic particles with velocities between 0.04 and 2.5 cm s−1 have been investigated in an HGMS model system with axial configuration. A single-wire system has been observed by a TV system. The trajectories were compared with the ideal (inviscid flow) and laminar (viscous flow) model. The results agree with laminar flow model.

    Description / Table of Contents: It is the aim of the investigations on a PBTP-glass-spherecomposite to get experimental well-founded informations about the state of stress in the polymer matrix of the composite. The used method was the x-ray-lattice strain-stress measurement.The result of the measurements is the proof of a 3-axial state of tension stress in the polymer matrix in the unloaded state as well as under an uniaxial tension load. The reason are differences in the elastic properties of the two components in this heterogenous built up composite.
    Notes: Die Untersuchungen an einem PBTP-Glaskugel-Verbundwerkstoff haben das Ziel, experimentell begründete Aussagen über den Spannungszustand in der Polymermatrix des Verbundwerkstoffes zu gewinnen. Als Meßverfahren wurde die röntgenographische Spannungsmessung verwendet.Im Ergebnis der Messungen konnte in der Polymermatrix des Verbundwerkstoffes sowohl im unbelasteten Zustand als auch bei einachsiger äußerer Zugbeanspruchung ein mehrachsiger Zugspannungszustand nachgewiesen werden. Er ist durch die Unterschiede in den elastischen Eigenschaften der beiden Komponenten des heterogenen aufgebauten Verbundwerkstoffes bedingt.

    Description / Table of Contents: Corrosion Fatigue of Coated Compressor Blade MaterialsDamage of compressor blades due to corrosion fatigue constitutes a substantial fraction of the observed stationary gas turbine failures. Dependent on environmental conditions and filtering, these blades in addition may be exposed to mechanical erosion. For corrosion fatigue protection, coatings have been used since many years. However, recently the earlier used NiCd coatings have been substituted to an increasing extent by inorganic coatings containing dispersed aluminum particles as manufactured e.g. by SermeTel. Such coatings are designed to warrant improved corrosion resistance. Within the scope of a joint research project of the German gas turbine manufacturers AEG KANIS, BBC and KWU, some of these protective coatings were tested under simulated operating conditions in different corrosive media with respect to their corrosion fatigue protection capabilities.As a result, it was shown that the aluminum dispersed coatings offer good protection against corrosion in aqueous neutral media at room temperature. One of the coatings tested guarantees in strongly acidious media only a time-limited corrosion protection. At elevated temperatures and also after erosive pre-damage, the fatigue strengths are reduced heavily. In comparison with uncoated specimens, galvanically or chemically deposited nickel-coatings, which were tested concurrently, improved the corrosion resistance only unessentially.
    Notes: Schäden an den Verdichterschaufeln von stationären Gasturbinen infolge von Schwingungsrißkorrosion stellen einen großen Teil der beobachteten Ausfallursachen dar. Zusätzlich sind diese Schaufeln je nach Umgebungsbedingungen mehr oder weniger starker Erosion ausgesetzt. Zum Schutz vor diesen Beanspruchungen werden seit Jahren Beschichtungen eingesetzt, wobei in letzter Zeit die zum Teil eingesetzten NiCd-Schichten vermehrt durch anorganische Schichten aus Chromat/Phosphat-Bindemitteln mit dispergierten Aluminiumpigmenten, z.B. der Firma SermeTel, ersetzt werden, die einen verbesserten Korrosionsschutz gewährleisten sollen. Im Rahmen eines gemeinsamen Forschungsprojektes der deutschen Gasturbinenhersteller AEG KANIS, BBC und KWU wurden einige dieser Schutzschichten in unterschiedlichen, betriebsnahen Korrosionsmedien auf ihre Schutzwirkung besonders gegen Schwingungsrißkorrosion hin untersucht.Als Ergebnis kann festgehalten werden, daß die aluminiumpigmentierten Schichten in neutralem Medium bei Raumtemperatur einen guten Korrosionsschutz bieten. Eine der Schichten gewährleistet in stark saurem Medium nur einen zeitlich begrenzten Korrosionsschutz. Bei höheren Temperaturen und auch nach erosiver Vorschädigung werden die ertragbaren Wechselamplituden dagegen sehr stark herabgesetzt. Parallel dazu geprüfte galvanisch oder chemisch abgeschiedene Nickelschichten verbesserten die Korrosionsbeständigkeit nur unwesentlich gegenüber unbeschichteten Proben.

    Notes: -Catenanes composed of two, three, five, or seven interlocked macrocycles have been synthesized in yields ranging from 1 to 30%. Their template-directed syntheses rely on a series of cooperative noncovalent bonding interactions between π-electron rich 1,5-dioxynaphthalene ring systems and π-electron deficient bipyridinium units which are incorporated within the macrocyclic components. The interlocked structure associated with one of the [3]catenanes was demonstrated unequivocally by single crystal X-ray analysis which also revealed the formation of polar stacks stabilized by intermolecular [π···π] interactions. The number of interlocked components of each catenane was determined by liquid secondary ion, matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization/time-of-flight, and/or electrospray mass spectrometries. The absorption spectra, emission spectra, and electrochemical properties of the macrocyclic components and of the catenanes have been investigated. Two kinds of charge-transfer absorption bands (intramolecular in the cyclophanes containing electron-donor and electron-acceptor units, intercomponent in the catenanes) have been found. Such charge-transfer excited states are responsible for the quenching of the potentially fluorescence units of the cyclophanes, and of the crown ethers in the catenanes. Charge-transfer electronic interactions are also evidenced by the electrochemical behavior. Correlations among the redox potentials of the various compounds are reported and discussed.

    Description / Table of Contents: The RAMAN and IR spectra of R3SnXSnR3 (R = CH3, C2H5, n-C4H9, C6H5; X = O, S) and (CH3)3SnSeSn(CH3)3 are reported, and the frequencies are assigned. The alkyl and phenyl vibrations of all compounds have the same position. For the Sn-X-Sn groups exist characteristic vibrations. The spectra are theoretically discussed in view of chemical bond. Approximative force constants are reported for Sn-X-Sn linkages. We did not find any double bond character for these linkages.
    Notes: Für die Verbindungen R3SnXSnR3 (R = CH3, C2H5, n-C4H9, C6H5; X = O, S) und (CH3)3SnSeSn(CH3)3 werden die Infrarot- und RAMAN-Spektren angegeben und die Frequenzen zugeordnet.Die inneren Schwingungen der Alkyl- bzw. Phenylgruppen sind weitgehend lagekonstant. Die Sn-X-Sn-Gruppierung besitzt charakteristische Schwingungen. Die Spektren werden bindungstheoretisch diskutiert, und für die Sn-X-Sn-Bindung Kraftkonstanten abgeschätzt. pπ-dπ-Doppelbindungsanteile sind nicht nachzuweisen.

    Description / Table of Contents: The interaction of P4S3 with primary and secondary amines (cyclohexylamine, n-butyl-amine; piperidine, di-n-butylamine) in benzene yields, in each of these cases, two reaction products: First, the repective ammonium salts of the dithiophosphoric-diamides; second, yellow amorphous salts containing either the anion [P6S2H]- or [P12S4H3]-. A reaction mechanism is proposed.
    Notes: Bei der Reaktion ovn P4S3 mit primären (Cyclohexylamin, n-Butylamin) und sekundären (Piperidin, Di-n-butylamun) Aminen in Benzol entstehen jeweils zwei Reaktionsprodukte. Die erste Gruppe der isolierten Substanzen wird durch die entsprechenden Ammoniumsalze der dithiophosphorsäure-diamide gebildet. Als zweite Gruppe werden gelbe, amorphe Salze erhalten, denen entweder das Anion [P6S2H]- oder [P12S4H3]- zukommt. Das Kation dazu liefert das eingesetzte Amin. Ein Reaktionsmechanismus wird vorgeschlagen.

From considerations of the spectra follows that for the six-membered rings the symmetry D3h can be excluded. However, it is not possible to decide between the symmetries C3v and Cs.

Zwischen der Wannenform (Cs) und der Sesselform (C3v) kann nicht exakt unterschieden werden.
