Notizen: Abstract  This paper reports on a new single hydrothermal process for the deposition of PZT thin films on titanium substrates. The Zr/(Zr+Ti) ratio is adjusted by controlling the Ti and Zr ionic concentrations. The films are analysed by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). A PZT film of 5 μm thickness (Zr=0.52, Ti=0.48) very interesting from the point of view of piezoelectric constants, was successfully obtained by the control of ions concentration in the solution. The XRD patterns show well-defined peaks corresponding to a well-crystallised PZT phase with the ratio Zr/(Zr+Ti)=0.52. This composition is called the morphotropic-phase boundary (MPB), which means the separation between the tetragonal and rhombohedral phases. SEM micrographs show microcrystalline thin films with homogenous thickness and distribution on the titanium substrate. The microcrystals are cubic. It is demonstrated that large vibration amplitudes can be excited with these films under low voltage supply (5 V).

Notizen: Abstract A simpleππ, $$\bar K$$ K, andρρ(ωω) fully coupled channel model is proposed to predict the isoscalarS-wave phase shifts and inelasticities forππ scattering in the 1.0 to 2.0 GeV region. TheS- matrix is required to exhibit poles corresponding to the established isoscalarJ π=0+ resonancesf 0(975),f 0(1400), andf 0(1710). A dominant feature of the experimentalππ inelasticity is the clear opening of the $$\bar K$$ K channel near 1 GeV, and the opening of another channel in the 1.4–1.5 GeV region. The success of our model in predicting this observed dramatic energy dependence indicates that the effect of multipion channels is adequately described by theππ coupling to the $$\bar K$$ K channel, theρρ(4π) andωω(6π) channels.

Notizen: Abstract: A ππ, ¯KK, and ρρ(ωω) fully coupled channel model is used to predict the lowest isospin S, P, D, F-wave phase shifts and inelasticities for elastic ππ scattering from threshold to 2.0 GeV. As input the S-matrix is required to exhibit poles corresponding to the meson resonance table of the Particle Data Group. As expected, the ππ inelasticity is very strongly related to the opening of the ¯K channel near 1 GeV, and the opening of ρρ(4π) and ωω(6π) channels in the 1.5 GeV region. The predictions of this model are compared to the various elastic ππ→ππ amplitudes, that were obtained from analyses of π− p →π−π+n data. The role of the various resonances, in particular the glueball candidate f 0(1500) and the f J(1710) is investigated.

Notizen: Abstract. Properties of scalar–isoscalar mesons are analyzed in a unitary model using separable interactions in three decay channels: $\pi\pi, $K\overline{K}$ and an effective $2\pi2\pi$ . We obtain different solutions by fitting various data on the $\pi\pi$ and $K\overline{K}$ phase shifts and inelasticities including the CERN–Cracow–Munich measurements of the $\pi^- p_{\uparrow} \rightarrow \pi^+ \pi^- n$ reaction on a polarized target. The analytical structure of the meson–meson multichannel amplitudes is studied with special emphasis on the role played by the S-matrix zeroes. S-matrix poles, located in the complex energy plane not too far from the physical region, are interpreted as scalar resonances. We see a wide $f_0(500)$ , a narrow $f_0(980)$ and a relatively narrow $f_0(1400)$ . In one of our solutions a resonance at about 1700 MeV is also found. Total, elastic and inelastic channel cross sections, branching ratios and coupling constants are evaluated and compared with available data. We construct an approximation to our model and show that the Breit–Wigner approach has a limited phenomenological applicability.
