    Notizen: Abstract The overdamped motion of a particle controlled by a time-correlated random force in a spatially periodic potential is studied theoretically. The correlation time of the force is essentially assumed to be much greater than the time required for the particle to traverse one period of the potential. It is demonstrated that a bimodal distribution of the force optimizes the control for power demand.

    Notizen: Abstract Results are reported of an experimental study of superheated rubidium vapor in the temperature range 1450–2000 K and pressure range 1.7–5.2 MPa and potassium in the range 1500–2100 K and 1.4–4.0 MPa. The experiments have been performed with an apparatus adaoted to implement a modified constant-volume piezometer technique, where the sensing element of a pressure transducer represented by a diaphragm is placed in a low-temperature zone. A dosing device is described which permits the performance of accurate measurements of the mass of the metal in the piezometer chamber. The present results are in good agreement with those reported by other investigators in the overlaping temperature and pressure ranges.

    Notizen: Abstract We consider in the nonlinear formulation the steady-state motion of an incompressible viscous fluid between two concentric spheres, into the gap between which fluid enters through one hole and leaves through a second. The holes are replaced by a source and sink, after which the boundary conditions are written in terms of the delta function. The delta function is expanded approximately in a finite series in Legendre polynomials. Depending on the number of terms, this series represents holes of various sizes. The solution to the problem is sought by expanding the desired function in a series in powers of the Reynolds number, whose coefficients are expanded in series in associated Legendre functions of the first kind. The velocity field and also the force acting on the inner sphere are found. Numerical computations are presented for holes whose aperture half-angle is 6°.

    Notizen: Abstract In this paper we examine the resistance encountered by a system of normal stresses during its rectilinear motion along the surface of a viscous liquid of infinite depth. The problem is solved in the linear formulation, i.e., it is assumed that amplitudes of the waves which arise are small and the waves are shallow. The solution for the two-and three-dimensional problems is obtained in the general case in closed form. In the two-dimensional case a detailed study is made of the case when a constant pressure p0, moving with the constant velocity U, is given on a segment of length 2l. In the three-dimen-sional problem the case is studied when the normal stress is concentrated on a segment of a straight line of length 2l, which can replace a ship moving along a straight course with the constant velocity U. The integrals obtained in both cases are studied using the stationary phase method, the application of which for the three-dimensional integrals with respect to a volume with boundaries is justified in §1 of the paper. As a result we obtain equations for the wave resistance in the two- (§2) and three-dimensional (§3) cases.

    Notizen: Abstract An osteoconductive biocomposite BAK-1000 is developed, which consists of hydroxyapatite and a silicate matrix similar in its chemical composition to sodium-calcium feldspars. The morphological studies of BAK-1000 biocomposite gave foundations for a conjecture concerning the mechanism of the deposition of collagen, which is the first product of osteogenesis, on the surface of the open pores of the material in a living organism with the formation of strong chemical bonds. Implant sets for maxillofacial surgery and neurosurgery were developed on the basis of BAK-1000 biocomposite and implemented in clinical practice.
