Preparation and Properties of an ortho-para-Bridged NonaphenyleneThe ortho and para bridged nonaphenylene 1 is prepared by coupling of the di-Grignard-derivative of 4.4″-dibromo-o-terphenyl with cupric chloride. Spectroscopic properties of 1 are discussed with regard to macrocyclic π-electron interactions and conformational problems.

Das ortho-und para-verknüpfte Nonaphenylen 1 wird aus der Di-Grignard-Verbindung des 4.4″-Dibrom-o-terphenyls durch Kupplung mit Kupfer(II)-chlorid dargestellt. Die spektroskopischen Eigenschaften von 1 werden unter den Gesichtspunkten der makrocyclischen π-Elektronen-Wechselwirkung und der Konformationsverhältnisse diskutiert.
