Summary In a total of 36 patients 76 tissue samples were taken intraoperatively and examined biologically in the agar well diffusion test for their cefotaxime content. Preoperatively the patients had received a single dose of 2 g of cefotaxime i. v. The interval between administration and the taking of tissue samples ranged from 25 to 315 minutes. The highest concentrations were found in the bile. The average concentration was 87.6 mcg/ml. The average concentrations in the wall of the gall bladder were 15.8 mcg/g, in the liver 4 mcg/g, in the lungs 5.0 mcg/g, in the musculature 3.0 mcg/g and in the colon 2.9 mcg/g. Lower concentrations were measured in uterine tissue (0.8 mcg/g) and in tube tissue (1.4 mcg/g). The minimal inhibitory concentration for the most clinically significant pathogens was well below the concentrations found in tissue.

Zusammenfassung Bei insgesamt 36 Patienten wurden 76 Gewebeproben intraoperativ entnommen und auf ihren Cefotaxim-Gehalt biologisch im Agar-Lochtest untersucht. Präoperativ erhielten die Patienten einmalig 2 g Cefotaxim i. v. Die Zeitabstände bis zur Gewebeentnahme liegen zwischen 25 und 315 Minuten. Die höchsten Spiegel wurden in der Galle ermittelt. Die mittlere Konzentration lag bei 87,6 mcg/ml. In der Gallenblasenwand betrug die mittlere Konzentration 15,8 mcg/g, in der Leber 4 mcg/g, in der Lunge 5,0 mcg/g, in der Muskulatur 3,0 mcg/g und im Kolon 2,9 mcg/g. Niedrigere Konzentrationen wurden für Uterusgewebe (0,8 mcg/g) und für Tubengewebe (1,4 mcg/g) gemessen. Die minimale Hemmkonzentration für die meisten klinisch bedeutsamen Erreger liegt jedoch weit unterhalb der in den Geweben ermittelten Konzentrationen.
