Crystal and Molecular Structure of Bis(p-chlorophenyl)cyclopropenoneBis(p-chlorophenyl)cyclopropenone crystallizes monoclinic in space group C 2/a with a = 10.881 Å, b = 12.814 Å, c = 12.284 Å; β = 120.36°; Z = 4. The planes of all molecules are parallel to (\documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ \bar{3}02 $\end{document}) with a characteristic packing sequence. The bond distances are remarkable different from the expected values: The C-C-bondlength opposite to the CO group (1.48 Å) is larger than the others in the three-membered ring (1.42), the length between this ring and the phenyl groups are shortened to 1.37 Å. The benzene rings are distorted and rotated out of the threemembered ring-plane by an angle of 7°.

Bis(p-chlorphenyl)cyclopropenon kristallisiert in der Raumgruppe C 2/a mit a = 10.881 Å, b = 12.814 Å, c = 10.284 Å, β = 120.36° und Z = 4 Formeleinheiten. Die Molekülebenen liegen parallel (\documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$ \bar{3}02 $\end{document}) mit einer charakteristischen Folge der Molekülpackung. Die intramolekularen Abstände zeigen bemerkenswerte Abweichungen von den erwarteten Beträgen: Die der CO-Gruppe gegenüberliegende C-C-Bindung ist mit 1.48 Å länger als die anderen Bindungen im Dreiring (1.42 Å); Bindungen zwischen Dreiring und Phenylresten sind auf 1.37 Å verkürzt; die Benzolringe sind deformiert und um 7° gegenüber dem Dreiring gedreht.
