A Simple Method for the Reduction of Alcohols to HydrocarbonsAlcohols are converted to hydrocarbons in good yields by catalytic hydrogenation of the corresponding O-alkylisoureas. In the case of O-isobornylisourea the reductive cleavage is accompanied by rearrangement of the carbon skeleton to give endo-isocamphane.

Alkohole Können mit sehr guten Ausbeuten durch katalytische Hydrierung der entsprechenden O- Alkylisoharnstoffe in Kohlenwasserstoffe übergeführt werden. Die Hydrogenolyse des O-Isobornylisoharnstoffs verläft unter gleichzeitiger Gerüstumlagerung.
