Imidazol, 2-Methyl- und 2-Äthyl-imidazol, ferner Benzimidazol, 2-Methyl- und 2-Äthyl-benzimidazol wurden mit 2-Vinyl-pyridin, 2-Methyl-6-vinyl-pyridin, 2.4-Dimethyl-6-vinyl-pyridin und mit 4-Vinyl-pyridin kondensiert. Außerdem wurden 2-Benzyl- und 2-Phenyl-benzimidazol mit 2-Vinyl-pyridin umgesetzt. Auch Benztriazol konnte pyridyläthyliert werden. - Einige Kondensations-produkte wurden in Gestalt der Hydrochloride und Jodmethylate sowie der Pikrate und Reineckate charakterisiert. - Die Umsetzung des 1-〈β-[Pyridyl-(2)]-äthyl〉-imidazols und des 1-〈β-[Pyridyl-(2)]-äthyl〉-benzimidazols mit Peressigsäure ergab N-Oxyd-hydrate.
