Summary Process analysis of L-lysine fermentations with Corynebacterium glutamicum 9366 was performed under optimal and limited aeration conditions. Limitation of oxygen caused a decrease of biomass yield, substrate consumption and L-lysine production, concomitant with formation of the by-products L-lactate, L-alanine and L-valine.
