Abstract The authors report the case of a young patient suffering from plasmacellular osteomyelitis of the thoracic spine, a unusual localisation of this type of chronic osteomyelitis. They discuss the role of imaging diagnostic modalities in this disease, focussing on MRI.

Zusammenfassung Wir berichten über den Fall einer jungen Patientin mit Plasmazell-Osteomyelitis an der Brustwirbelsäule als ungewöhnliche Lokalisation dieser chronischen Osteomyelitis-Form. Dabei wird die Rolle der bildgebenden Diagnostik, insbesondere der Magnetresonanztomografie diskutiert.
