    Notes: Summary An electronic circuit is described consisting mainly of a current source with an output impedance near 1 GΩ and with a rise time of 16 μs. Combination of this circuit with a fine electropolished platinum microelectrode enables the application of rapid current steps of up to several microamperes to cells of low input resistance under current clamp conditions.
