Summary The cytostatic effect of the alkaloid. Vincaleucoblastin, is morphologically similar to that of colchicin in that it causes blocking of mitosis in early metaphase, cut there are clinical and experimental differences between the two substances. The blocked mitoses show qualitative alterations in the form of polycentric and shrunken types as well as abnormalities, scattered and degenerated forms, the frequency of which has been recorded on the basis of 300 differentiation of mitoses.

Zusammenfassung Die zytostatische Wirksamkeit des Alkaloids Vincaleukoblastin ist morphologisch in ähnlicher Weise wie beim Colchicin durch eine Blockierung der Zellmitose im Stadium der frühen Metaphase charakterisiert, obgleich klinisch und experimentell Unterschiede deutlich sind. Qualitativ zeigten die blockierten Mitosen polyzentrische und konzentrische Schrumpfformen sowie Aberrations-, Zerstreuungs- und Degenerationsformen, über deren Häufigkeit auf Grund von 300 Mitosedifferenzierungen berichtet wird.
