Description / Table of Contents:
Summary Basing on the disease courses of 205 patients with plasmocytoma the authors present data on the age distribution, sex distribution and prehemoblast stage. In order to utilize, apart from the 174 deceased patients, also the diseases courses of the 31 patients still alive on a given date or having survived this data, for the statistical assessment of the survival time, „indirect mortality tables” were established, similar to those used in population-statistical methods, both for the total number of cases and separately for a group of untreated, cytostatically underliminally treated and cytostatically adequately treated patients. On the basis of experiences made so far chemotherapy was considered a minimum dose of alltogether 9 gms. of Endoxan at least for 3 months. The total duration of the disease of all patients amounted to — as an arithmetic means −25.8 and the medium 15.5 months. In the untreated patients it was 16.1 or 13.2 months, in the cytostatically adequately treated patients it was 68 to 50 months. However, an inevitable error of selection has to be considered here insofar as the group of the adequately treated patients only consisted of patients, who survived at least for 5 months since the establishment of the diagnosis.
Notes:
