Zusammenfassung Die ein- bzw. zweimalige intratracheale Injektion von 500 γ DMBA (suspendiert in CMC) führt bei einem kleinen Teil (5%) der Tiere zu Papillomen des Larynx und der Trachea und bei einem größeren Teil (46%) der Goldhamster zu “adenomatoiden” Lungenveränderungen. Die vorliegende Methode wird als geeignete Initialbehandlung des Atemtraktes mit Cancerogenen angesehen. Weitere Versuche sollen ihre Eignung für die Testung von schwachen Cancerogenen oder Cocancerogenen auf den Atemtrakt zeigen.

Summary It could be demonstrated that 500 γ DMBA suspended in CMC injected intratracheally once or twice leads to papillomas of the larynx in 5% of the treated hamsters and to “adenomatoid lesions” in 46% of the treated animals. The experimental model presented here appears adequate for initial treatment of the respiratory tract with carcinogenic substances. Further tests with the same technique are presently under way in our laboratories in order to investigate the suitability of the method for testing weak carcinogenic or cocarcinogenic substances on the respiratory tract.
