Notizen: In the rotating gradient experiment (RGE), a magnetic bubble moves continuously in a circular trajectory, and vertical Bloch lines (VBL) are generated from Bloch curves (BC) when field gradients are increased. Three samples, from the same wafer, are studied by means of the RGE. Two of the three samples have been ion implanted at 200 keV with Ne+ at 1 and 2×1014 atoms/cm2. The dynamic transitions and the bubble states, winding number (S), and the dimensionless momentum (p) are investigated for the implanted and unimplanted samples. Changes in S and p are observed in the unimplanted sample, but only p can be modified in the implanted films. The experimental data gives evidence that the value of p always increases by two after each of the dynamic transitions in the implanted samples. Also, changes (Δp) in the value of p, in the intermediate region between transitions, are a result of an increase in the size of the BCs. The increase in resistance to growth and punch-through of BCs, and to translation of VBLs is found to cause the velocity and Δp of implanted films to increasse further in the region between transitions. The bubble trajectories in the unimplanted and lightly implanted samples form circles for all bubble states observed. However, the heavily implanted sample exhibits an elliptical trajectory because the bubble translational velocity changes with position as a result of an in-plane anisotropy. The ratio of the major to the minor axes is sometimes larger than 2.
