Notes: An accelerator for ion beams has been designed and constructed in which ions collectively undergo acceleration in the wells of a train of triangle-shaped potential waves moving with a constant acceleration. The accelerator mentioned above is planned for investigating the conditions necessary for acceleration of ions with a mass distribution, such as cluster ions, which will be available in future fusion reactors. The method and the circuits for generations of propagating accelerated waves are described and the structure of the accelerator with an acceleration space 120 cm long is mentioned. A result is reported on a preliminary experiment for acceleration of an argon ion beam, which shows that the accelerator works well.
