    Notizen: Reactions with a heavy projectile incident on a light target can be used for the efficient in-flight production of secondary radioactive beams. An overview of this technique is given using data on 17F beams produced via the p(17O, 17F)n and d(16O, 17F)n reactions. With primary 16,17O beam currents of 100 pnA, intensities of up to 2×106 17F/s on target were achieved. Using this beam, the p(17F,α)14O reaction was measured. © 2000 American Institute of Physics.

    Notizen: Abstract Mass and charge transfer was investigated for the system136Xe+208Pb at 5.9 MeV/nucleon incident energy with aΔE —E-time of flight telescope. The angle and energy integrated cross section for the strongly damped events was found to be 510 mb, very close to the total reaction cross section. The width of the mass distribution as function of the total kinetic energy loss was measured and is compared to the width of the corresponding charge distribution. An upper limit of 1 μb has been found for processes with very large mass transfer.

Total cross sections for the inelastic, transfer and fission channels were measured. The sum of the inelastic and transfer channels accounts for 30% of the total reaction cross section; the residual strength is found in a compoundfission process.

There is only one comprehensive study conducted to ascertain the nature and incidence of injuries in the literature. The pathomechanism and surgical therapy of vertebral trauma in jockeys was analysed.

Der Pathomechanismus wurde anhand einer Videoaufzeichnung des Unfallhergangs analysiert. Die aktuellen Therapiekonzepte werden nach Darstellung der Literatur diskutiert. Die schwere Wirbelsäulenverletzung des Jockeys ist ein Arbeitsunfall und bedarf der interdisziplinären Diagnostik und Therapie.

    Beschreibung / Inhaltsverzeichnis: Zusammenfassung Von den zahlreichen Methoden des Ersatzes der subfibularen Bänder wurden 4 Verfahren in einer vergleichenden biomechanischen Studie unter einheitlichen Versuchsbedingungen an 36 Präparaten überprüft. Dabei wurden eine eigene, anatomiegerechte Technik den Verfahren von Paar, Watson Jones und B. G. Weber gegenübergestellt. Wie an den Plexiglasmodellen dargestellt wurde, können bei den meisten Methoden Dehnungen und Gleitbewegungen beobachtet werden, wenn sie nicht die anatomischen Insertionspunkte berücksichtigen. Der stabilisierende Effekt ist bei allen Verfahren ausreichend. Bei den Tenodeseverfahren, besonders bei Watson Jones ist aber die Beweglichkeit, besonders in Supination-Inversion erheblich eingeschränkt.
    Notizen: Summary Four methods for the replacement of subfibular ligaments were compared in a biomechanical study with 36 cadaver joints. The anatomical procedure originally described was compared to the methods of Paar, Watson Jones and B. G. Weber. As has been shown with acrylic models, most methods produced elongation and sliding movements when the anatomical insertion points were not taken into consideration. The stabilizing effect is satisfactory in all techniques, but motion, especially supination, is restricted by tenodesis methods like the Watson Jones technique. Only anatomical replacement of the ligaments enables joint clearance, stability and range of motion to be restored.

    Beschreibung / Inhaltsverzeichnis: Zusammenfassung Bei chronischen Instabilitäten des oberen Sprunggelenks stellt sich die Indikation zum plastischen Bandersatz. Nach Darstellung der anatomischen Verhältnisse werden aus zahlreichen Operationsmethoden 3 beispielhafte Vertreter einer neuen Bandplastik gegenübergestellt. Die mechanischen Verhältnisse werden am Plexiglasfadenmodell demonstriert. In den einleitenden Bemerkungen werden die biomechanischen Grundlagen zur Bandplastik zusammengefasst. Es folgt dann die Demonstration des operativen Vorgehens. Es wird eine längshalbierte Peronaeus-brevis-Sehne in einen u-förmigen Bohrkanal an der distalen Fibula eingezogen. Die Bohrungen werden mit Kirschnerdrähten markiert und mit einem kannelierten Bohrer und einer eigenen Winkelbohrlehre ausgeführt. Die Enden werden am Rande der Insertionsstellen des Lig. talofibulare anterius und calcaneoîibulare fixiert, womit eine anatomische Imitation der natürlichen Bänder gelingt.
    Notizen: Summary Chronic instabilities of the upper ankle joint require ligament replacement. The anatomical conditions are described, and three examples from several operation methods are compared with a new technique. The mechanical conditions are demonstrated with a model. The biomechanical elements for ligament replacement are mentioned in the preliminary comments. Then the operative procedure is demonstrated. A peroneus-brevis tendon, cut in the longitudinal direction, is inserted into a U-shaped channel at the distal fibula. The drilling sites are marked by K-wires and carried out with the help of a cannulated drilling device for angles. The ends are fixed to the lip of the insertion points of the anterior talofibula and calcaneofibular ligaments. This procedure makes it possible to simulate the natural ligaments.

    Beschreibung / Inhaltsverzeichnis: Zusammenfassung Tierexperimentelle Untersuchungen (seit 1981) konnten zeigen, daß langsam resorbierbare Kordeln aus PDS (Polydioxanon) sich als passagerer Kraftträger mit dem Vorteil des kollagenbindegewebigen Umbaus eignen. Die PDS-Kordel wurde klinisch bisher mit gutem Erfolg bei ligamentären Verletzungen des Schultergürtels (n = 15) und des Beckens (n = 13) eingesetzt. In Kombination mit Fascia lata oder Patellarsehne wird sie als Augmentationsplastik zum Ersatz des vorderen Kreuzbandes (n = 15) benutzt.
    Notizen: Summary Animal experiments were performed in order to examine the applicability of the slowly resorbable material, Polydioxanon (PDS), in the transposition of ligaments in general and the transposition of cruciate ligaments in particular. The experiments on rabbits and sheep suggest that PDS can be used to fasten ligament sutures and to reinforce ligament grafts. Under extremely favorable soft tissue conditions, the substance can even be used as a ligament substitute. For example, we used PDS as a substitute in ligament injuries of the shoulder (n=15) and the pelvis (n = 13); good clinical results can also be achieved in the difficult plastic surgery of the anterior cruciate ligament, if reinforcement of the autologous transplant is performed using PDS of an augmentation graft.
