Summary Flame photometry, an excellent micromethod particularly for mixtures of alkalis, demands the most careful consideration of the influence of cosolutes (partners) if quantitative data are demanded. In addition to secondary interferences (foreign light, alteration of the atomizing conditions) which are readily eliminated, real interferences occur because of the influence of dissociation and ionization in the flame. The great influence of the temperature and the concentration of the solution on the error arising from the cosolutes is discussed.

Résumé La photométrie de flamme est une excellente microméthode, particulièrement pour les mélanges d'alcalis; mais elle demande une étude très soignée de l'influence des autres substances dissoutes si l'on désire obtenir des données quantitatives précises. En plus d'interférences secondaires (lumière parasite, modification des conditions de vaporisation) qui sont aisément éliminées, des interférences réelles proviennent de la dissociation et de l'ionisation dans la flamme. On discute l'influence importante de la température et de la concentration de la solution sur l'erreur correspondant à l'influence des corps dissouts.

Zusammenfassung Die Flammenspektrometrie— eine ausgezeichnete Mikromethode insbesondere für Gemische von Alkalien — erfordert bei quantitativen Aussagen die sorgfältige Berücksichtigung des Einflusses der Lösungsgenossen (Partner). Neben sekundären Störungen (Fremdlicht, Änderung der Zerstäubungsbedingungen), die sich weitgehend ausschalten lassen, treten durch Beeinflussung der Dissoziation und Ionisation in der Flamme echte Störungen auf. Es wird der große Einfluß der Temperatur und der Lösungskonzentration auf die durch Partner bedingten Fehler behandelt.
