    Notes: A novel design is presented for a cryogenically cooled multisubstrate sample holder for thin film deposition in high vacuum. The cryogen flows through tubing soldered onto a fixed copper plate, while the substrates are mounted on a separate tray that is supported by a linear/rotary-motion feedthrough. By lowering the substrate tray into firm contact with the copper plate, substrate temperatures as low as 120 K can be achieved. © 1994 American Institute of Physics.

    Description / Table of Contents: Contents Three ideal half-wave rectifier circuits are discussed as examples of piecewise linear networks. It is shown that there exists at least one specific network variable in each of these networks whose time function can be described by one single differential equation. A general method is presented for the solution of this type of differential equations.
    Notes: Übersicht Es werden drei ideale Einweggleichrichterschaltungen als Beispiele stückweis linearer Netzwerke behandelt. Es zeigt sich, daß in jedem dieser Netzwerke wenigstens eine ausgezeichnete Netzwerkvariable existiert, deren zeitlicher Verlauf sich durch eine einzige Differentialgleichung beschreiben läßt. Zur Lösung dieses Differentialgleichungsstyps wird ein allgemeines Verfahren angegeben.

    Notes: Abstract The hyperfine structure splittings of 32 even parity states and of 26 odd partity states of molybdenum have been measured by atomic beam magnetic resonance and by laser induced fluorescence. The analysis of the hyperfine structure data of the even parity configurations (4d+5s)6 yields experimental evidence for second order hyperfine interactions. In addition, theg J factors of 19 fine structure levels have been determined in order to test the quality of intermediate coupling wave functions for the (4d+5s)6 configurations.

    Notes: Abstract Isotope shifts in 17 transitions of ZrI have been measured by Doppler-free laser polarization spectroscopy in a hollow cathode discharge. The results were combined with other known isotope shift data of ZrI and tested for consistency in a multidimensional King plot. By including values ofδ〈r 2〉 deduced from optical isotope shifts mass and field shifts were separated, and improved values ofδ〈r 2〉 could be determined from the King plot. The results for the isotope pairs A, A′ are as follows; 90, 92: 0.244(43) fm2; 92, 94: 0.176(20) fm2; 94, 96: 0.126(23) fm2.
