    Notes: Summary Results of previous investigations have indicated that photochemotherapy (PUVA) attacks membranes of target cells. Using the combination of a stopped-flow technique and laser irradiation we were able to prove that the fast PUVA effect is explainable solely by the membrane damage. Lymphoid cells of healthy persons or psoriatics were taken, within 1 ms mixed with 8-methoxy-psoralen (8-MOP) at concentrations of 1.0, 0.1, and 0.05 μg/ml, and then irradiated by a 337-nm laser pulse (0.5 mJ/cm2) lasting some picoseconds. Approximately 1 ms after administration of 8-MOP to the cell surface at least 10% of the cells were damaged, as could be judged using the standard trypan blue exclusion test. This happened at 8-MOP concentrations of 1.0 or 0.1 μg/ml plus laser irradiation, but a concentration of 0.05 μg/ml 8-MOP plus laser exposure did not cause any effect within 8 ms after mixing. There was no difference between using lymphoid cells from healthy persons or from psoriatics. The fact that only a very short time is necessary before cell damage occurs means that, as far as the fast PUVA effect is concerned, a photochemical reaction involving nuclear DNA can be discounted.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary The ring on an elastic foundation is the basic concept to formulate the static and dynamic properties of radial cord tires. To illustrate the theory, static axial deflection under concentrated load, natural frequencies of radial vibrations and the formation of stationary waves at high rolling speeds are treated. By comparing measurements of radial and axial vibrations with theoretical results it is shown that the model in question may well be used.
    Notes: Übersicht Der elastisch gebettete Kreisringbalken wird als Ersatzsystem zur Beschreibung des statischen und dynamischen Verhaltens eines Gürtelreifens verwendet. Als Beispiele werden statische Querdeformationen unter örtlich angreifender Last, Eigenschwingungsverhalten und Rollwulstbildung berechnet. Durch Messung von Radial- und Querschwingungen und Vergleich mit der Theorie wurde die technische Brauchbarkeit des verwendeten mechanischen Modells nachgewiesen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary The paper deals with basic concepts of high-frequency rolling contact problems of belted tyres. An algorithm is developed, analogous to a partial differential equation of first order, to describe elements of the path of every contact point. Using this algorithm nonstationary rolling together with slip and spin are treated. The theory of small disturbances leads to well known linear theories of rolling. Several computed examples, showing the dynamical behavior of the belt are presented.
    Notes: übersicht In der Arbeit werden Grundlagen zur Berechnung hochfrequenter RollzustÄnde dargestellt. Ausgehend von der kinematischen Beschreibung der Bahnkurven der Kontaktpunkte wird ein Algorithmus entwickelt, der der partiellen Differentialgleichung erster Ordnung für TransportvorgÄnge Äquivalent ist. InstationÄre RollzustÄnde in LÄngsschlupf, Querschlupf und Spin können damit ohne EinschrÄnkung auf Haften behandelt werden. Eine Störungsrechnung zeigt den Zusammenhang mit linearen Theorien. Einige Beispiele, die das dynamische Verhalten des Gürtels behandeln, werden durchgeführt.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary The influence of traction forces on rolling contact of an railway axle is treated. In addition to the equations of motion of the boogie the equations of the rotational motion of the axles can be derived. The stability of the rolling motion can be given explicitely in connection with the behavior of the boogie. The wave length of thesinus-motion of the boogie is computed to show the influence of the traction forces. With the technical datas of the locomotive E 10 the behavior of the boogies during stationary running on a circle path is also computed by the method of Newton-Raphson.
    Notes: Übersicht Es wird der Einfluß endlich großer Umfangskräfte auf die seitlichen Führungswirkungen eines rollenden Radsatzes untersucht. Die Bewegungsgleichungen der Achse treten zu den üblichen Bewegungsgleichungen des Drehgestells neu hinzu. Die Bedingung für Rollstabilität kann dadurch in Abhängigkeit von der Fahrlage des ganzen Fahrzeuges explizit angegeben werden. Die Wellenlänge des Sinuslaufes eines Drehgestells in Abhängigkeit von der Zugkraft wird bestimmt. Am Beispiel der Lokomotive Baureihe 110 (E 10) wird die Fahrlage der Drehgestelle in der Kurve mittels der Methode von Newton berechnet.
