    Notes: Lithium-Selective Chromoionophores of Arylazobutenoate TypeNew lithium-selective chromoionophoric compounds with arylazobutenoic acid structure have been synthesized from dichlorodihydropyrazole 2. The (E,E) isomers of esters of the arylazobutenoic acid (3a, 4, 5) exhibit a remarkable color change in the presence of lithium ions and triethylamine from orange to purple.

    Notes: Rubidium salts with N-(Arylazoalkenoyl)azacoronands (2a-c), were investigated using 87Rb and 13C solid-state NMR spectroscopy. From the NMR results it is concluded that there is a host-gust interaction. This suggests that the rubidium and ammonium ions, respectively, are incorporated into the cavity between the coronand and the chromophore.

    Description / Table of Contents: Octaphenyltitanocen DichlorideOctaphenyltitanocen dichloride, (Ph4HC5)2TiCl2 (III) was prepared by the reaction of Ph4HC5Li (I) with TiCl3 · 3THF, followed by oxidation of the intermediate (Ph4HC5)2TiCl (II) with air in HCl/THF solution. III was characterized by elemental analysis, the i. r., 1H-, and 13C-n.m.r. spectrum. The X-ray crystal structure is reported and discussed.
    Notes: Octaphenyltitanocendichlorid, (Ph4HC5)2TiCl2 (III), wurde gewonnen durch Reaktion von Ph4HC5Li (I) mit TiCl3 · 3THF. Dabei intermediär entstehendes (Ph4HC5)2TiCl (II) wurde in einem HCl/THF-Gemisch mittels Luftsauerstoff oxydiert. Eine nähere Charakterisierung erfolgte durch Elementaranalyse sowie das IR-, 1H- und 13C-NMR-Spektrum. Die Molekülstruktur wird mitgeteilt und diskutiert.

    Notes: Rubidium-Selective Chromoionophores with N-(Arylazoalkenoyl)azacoronand StructureThe N-(arylazoalkenoyl)azacoronands 2a-2c have been synthesized by ring-opening reaction of the dichloropyrazolin-5(4H)-one 1 with the corresponding azacrowns. The structure of 2a was determined by X-ray analysis. In the presence of Rb+ salts the neutral solutions of 2a and 2b in acetonitrile or acetonitrile/water mixtures show a change of colour from yellow to red. Spectroscopic results of 1H-, 2H-, 13C- and 87Rb-NMR investigations indicate a complexation of the Rb ion between the crown and the phenolic OH group of 2b.
