Notes: Summary 1. There is a high incidence of latent vasospastic changes in the hands of patients with DC regardless of the state of the disease. 2. The high incidence of vasospasm and ulnar nerve lesions in DC suggest, that in some ways these are related to the pathogenesis. 3. Comparing patients with a normal finger plethysmogram with those with a vasospastic vessel-reaction, there is no correlation concerning the ulnar nerve lesions in DC. Therefore we assume that these are independent constitutional factors. — 4. The disturbance in blood flow in the hand in DC is usually asymptomatic and is probably a different phenomenon from that seen in Raynaud's Syndrome.

Notes: Summary A patient with familial neurogenic acroosteolytic defect of the foot was treated with a full thickness skin graft in order to prevent amputation of the lower leg. This graft proved to be of good weight bearing capacity. The clinical and morphological features and implications of the disease are discussed.

Notes: Summary Studies in rats and rabbits show that pure (99.8+%) magnesium wires with a diameter of 0.25 and 0.50 mm, which are implanted subcutaneously and intramuscularly, will be totally resorbed within 20 weeks but will be dissolved completely within 10 weeks if they are treated with 10% acetic acid before implantation. According to morphologic and electromyographic studies magnesium rods cause only a very mild foreign body reaction in normal tissue and do not harm the function or structure of neighbouring nerves and muscle fibres. This suggests that a refill of haemangioma with magnesium seeds is advisable at intervals of 8 weeks and allows the conclusion that magnesium implants can safely be used also in close proximity to facial nerve branches and delicate muscle fibres.

Notes: Summary A case of heterologous Müllerian adenosarcoma of the uterus is presented with emphasis on morphologic differentiation, clinical course, prognosis, and treatment. This tumor was described first by Clement and Scully in 1974. Since that time 36 cases have been reported in the literature. The neoplasm consists of benign epithelial and malignant mesenchymal elements. The latter are composed of tissue with homologous and heterologous differentiation. Our microscopic and ultrastructural studies suggested that the heterologous elements were rhabdomyoblasts with a variable degree of differentiation. According to the literature the prognosis of Müllerian adenosarcoma is better than that of malignant mixed Müllerian tumor. The location of the tumor — whether intrauterine or extrauterine — seems to be more important as regards prognosis than the differentiation of the sarcomatous elements. The clinical course in our patient was not different from those described in the literature. Surgical removal of the tumor remains the treatment of choice. Some authors report a better survival rate when surgical treatment is followed by radiotherapy. Chemotherapy may be useful in cases of local or distant metastasis, and in cases of incomplete excision of the tumor mass.

Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung 10 Ganglien wurden lichtmikroskopisch und elektronenmikroskopisch untersucht.
Notes: Summary 10 ganglia were studied by means of light and electrone microscope and with immunfluorescence methods. The light microscopic findings in the wall of a ganglion resemble on developing hygroma. The mesenchymal cells ultrastructurally show differentiation to synovia-like cells, either surrounding the ganglion in the connective tissue wall or lining the cavity. The development of synovial tissue from undifferentiated mesenchymal cells is due to the typical mechanical stimulus affecting joints.
