Summary 204 children with various degrees of anterior crowding were examined with respect to dental plaque intensity. Criteria used were: Crowding-Index byLundström, Plaque-Index byQuingley andHein (modified), Sulcus-Bleeding-Index byMühlemann andSon. The coefficient of correlation was evaluated for different variables. Age to plaque=0.32, plaque to periodontal condition=0,32, modus of cleaning teeth to plaque=0,38, crowding to plaque=0,40, age to periodontal condition=0,58, crowding to periodontal condition=0,64. All values of cc differ significantly from zero (α=5%).
Abstract:
Résumé On a examiné la formation de la plaque chez 204 enfants ayant un encombrement incisif plus on moins prononcé. On a utilisé comme critères d'examen l'indice d'encombrement derLundström, l'indice de plaque deQuingley etHein modifié et le ‘sulcus-bleeding-index’ deMühlemann etSon. On a déterminé le coefficient de contingence (cc) entre des différents variables: âge-plaque=0,32, plaque-état parodontal =0,32. mode de lavage des dents-plaque=0,38, encombrement-plaque=0,40, âge-état parodontal=0,58, encombrement-état parodontal=0,64. Toutes les valeurs de cc se distinguaient de manière significative de zéro (α=5%).

Zusammenfassung 204 Kinder mit unterschiedlichem Ausprägungsgrad des frontalen Engstandes wurden auf ihren Plaquebefall hin untersucht. Als Prüfkriterien wurden verwendet: Engstand-Index nachLundström, Plaque-Index nachQuigley u.Hein modifiziert, Sulcus-Bleeding-Index nachMühlemann u.Son. Der Kontigenzkoeffizient (cc) wurde zwischen verschiedenen Variablen ermittelt: Alter-Plaque=0.32, Plaque-Parodontalzustand=0,32, Zahnputzmodus-Plaque=0,38, Engstand-Plaque=0,40, Alter-Parodontalzustand=0.58. Engstand-Parodontalzustand=0,64. alle cc-Werte unterschieden sich signifikant von Null (α=5%).
