Description / Table of Contents:
Abstract Intramedullary stabilization is one alternative to plate osteosynthesis for the treatment of humeral shaft fractures. In the last 50 years many wire and nail systems have been developed for this purpose and used in clinical practice, many of which have involved problems with rotational stability. One of the recently developed nails is the unreamed humerus nail (UHN) for antegrade and retrograde insertion. The nail system and the operative technique, and also the results of a multicentre study and the author’s own results, are presented and discussed.
Notes:
