    Notes: The results of calculation of the 3D electrostatic field in a cylindrical tank provided with a system of vertical grounding rods are presented. The field intensities of the original tank without the grounding rods are very large, which may cause a spark discharge, even at a relatively small space-charge density. The presented results involving the grounding rod system can be used to eliminate or reduce fire and/or explosion hazards.

    Notes: A three-dimensional analysis of the quasistationary, magnetic leakage field of a one-phase transformer with asymmetrical disk windings is presented. A simplified mathematical model of the transformer based on Maxwell's equations is applied. Computational results of the leakage reactance for asymmetrical disk-type windings are compared with the analytical ones according to Richter's formulae.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary Two new methods for determining the transfer functions of two-terminal pair RLC-networks are described. Using these methods the impulsive reponse of the respective netword approximates any given and permissible function. The error of approximation can be made arbitrarily small if the order of the transfer function is not taken, i.e. if the number of circuit elements is not restricted. The peculiarity of the new methods appears in the transformation of the time domain in certain other domains. Thus the problem is reduced to the relatively easy problem of approximation by polynomials. The efficiency of the methods is shown by means of some practical examples.
    Notes: Übersicht Es werden zwei neuartige Verfahren zur Bestimmung von Übertragungsfunktionen für RLC-Vierpole mitgeteilt. Dabei läßt sich erreichen, daß die Impulsantwort des jeweiligen Vierpols eine im wesentlichen beliebig vorgeschriebene Funktion approximiert. Wenn der Grad der zu bestimmenden Übertragungsfunktion beliebig gewählt werden darf, wenn also die Zahl der Schaltelemente des entstehenden Vierpols keinen Einschränkungen unterliegt, kann die Approximation beliebig genau gemacht werden. Die Besonderheit der Verfahren liegt in der Transformation des Zeitbereichs in gewisse andere Bereiche, so daß die Aufgabe auf das verhältnismäßig einfache Approximationsproblem mittels Polynomen zurückgeführt wird. Die Leistungsfähigkeit der Verfahren wird anhand einiger Zahlenbeispiele vorgeführt.

    Description / Table of Contents: Contents It is shown that for discontinuous and for periodically time-varying linear systems the question of asymptotic stability leads to a homonymous mathematical condition. Then two criteria are presented, both suited for a numerical treatment, by means of which an easy verification of this condition is possible.
    Notes: Übersicht Zunächst wird gezeigt, daß die Frage nach der asymptotischen Stabilität bei diskontinuierlich arbeitenden und bei periodisch zeitvarianten linearen Systemen auf eine gleichlautende mathematische Bedingung führt. Dann werden zwei für die numerische Anwendung gecignete Kriterien beschrieben, mit deren Hilfe diese Bedingung leicht überprüft werden kann.

    Description / Table of Contents: Übersicht Es wird eine dreidimensionale Analyse des quasistationären magnetischen Streufeldes eines dreiphasigen Transformators mit Scheibenwicklung dargestellt. Dazu wird ein vereinfachten mathematisches Modell eines Transformators auf der Basis der Maxwell-Gleichungen angewandt. Die numerischen Ergebnisse der Kurzschlußreaktanz für symmetrische und unsymmetrische Scheibenwicklung wurden mit den analytischen Ergebnissen nach R. Richter [8] verglichen. Für die Berechnung des magnetischen Feldes wurde ein Differenzenverfahren mit schnellen numerischen Prozeduren verwendet.

    Description / Table of Contents: Übersicht Es wird ein neuartiges Modell für eine Doppelkreis-Hochspannungs-Drehstrom-Übertragung (DHDUE) aufgestellt und eine geeignete Methode zur digitalen Integration entwickelt. Dieses Modell ist gekennzeichnet durch die verteilten Parameter der DHDUE. Zur Durchführung einer Phase-Modal-Transformation wird eine neue Ähnlichkeitstransformation eingeführt. Das Modell und die Integrationsmethode werden verwendet zur digitalen Simulation der elektromagnetischen Ausgleichsvorgänge, die auftreten bei der Aufschaltung der unbelasteten DHDUE, und zur Simulation der zweiseitigen Quellen. Einzelheiten werden mittels eines numerischen Beispiels erläutert. Die Ergebnisse lassen erkennen, daß das eingeführte Modell geeignet ist für die digitale Echtzeit-Simulation der DHDUE.
    Notes: Contents A new model of a double-circuit high-voltage three-phase power transmission line (DHTT) is presented, and an adequate digital integration method is developed. This model is characterized by the distributed parameters of the DHTT. For performing a phase-modal transformation a new similarity transformation is introduced. The model and the integration method are used for digital simulation of the electromagnetic transients caused in activating the unloaded DHTT and for the simulation of the automatic synchronization of the DHTT as well as of the parallel operation of the DHTT with sources on both sides. Details are demonstrated with the aid of a numerical example. The results show that the model presented is suited for digital real-time simulation of the DHTT.

    Description / Table of Contents: Übersicht Der Beitrag behandelt elektrische Felder in kubischen Behältern mit einem System von vertikalen geerdeten Stäben. Die Berechnungen zeigen, daß selbst bei relativ kelinen Werten der Raumladungsdichte (q=100 μC/m3) die elektrische Feldstärke und das elektrische Potential sehr groß sind und einen Durchschlag verursachen können. Das dargestellte mathematische Modell und die Rechenergebnisse lassen sich als eine Methode verwenden für die Reduzierung des Feuer- und Explosionsrisikos in Behältern von der Form eines Parallelepipeds zur Speicherung leicht brennbarer Flüssigkeiten.

The calculations made in the paper indicate that even at a relatively small space-charge density (q=100 μC/m3), the values of the field intensity and electric potential are very large and may cause a spark discharge. The presented mathematical model and the results of field calculations can be applied to the reduction of fire and explosion risks in parallelepiped tanks storing inflammable liquids.

    Description / Table of Contents: Übersicht Es werden neuartige Modelle für einphasige Kurzschlüsse gegen Erde einer Doppelkreis-Hochspannungs-Drehstrom-Übertragungsstrecke (DHDUE) aufgestellt und geeignete Methoden zur digitalen Integration sowie relevante Rechenschemata entwickelt. Die Simulation der elektromagnetischen Ausgleichsvorgänge bei einphasigen Kurzschlüssen gegen Erde an der DHDUE zeigt, daß die Modelle einschließlich ihrer Integrationsmethoden und Rechenschritte zur Echtzeitsimulation von Fehlern auf Parallelprozessorsystemen geeignet sind.
    Notes: Contents New models are presented for one-phase earth short circuits of a double-circuit high-voltage three-phase power transmission line (DHTT) and appropriate integration methods as well as the relevant computation scheme are described. Simulation of the electromagnetic transients of the one-phase earth short circuit of the DHTT shows that using parallel processing, the models including their integration methods and computation steps are suited for real-time simulation of faults.

    Notes: Abstract Two new algorithms and associated neuron-like network architectures are proposed for solving the eigenvalue problem in real-time. The first approach is based on the solution of a set of nonlinear algebraic equations by employing optimization techniques. The second approach employs a multilayer neural network with linear artificial neurons and it exploits the continuous-time error back-propagation learning algorithm. The second approach enables us to find all the eigenvalues and the associated eigenvectors simultaneously by training the network to match some desired patterns, while the first approach is suitable to find during one run only one particular eigenvalue (e.g. an extreme eigenvalue) and the corresponding eigenvector in realtime. In order to find all eigenpairs the optimization process must be repeated in this case many times for different initial conditions. The performance and convergence behaviour of the proposed neural network architectures are investigated by extensive computer simulations.
