Summary The action of Fursemide, a new anthranylic acid derivative with diuretic response was studied by stop-flow analysis in six dogs. Fursemide exerted within twenty minutes a marked inhibition of proximal and distal water-and sodium reabsorption as well as a mild distal potassium secretion. In two experiments stop-flow pattern was studied following the application of mercury-allyl-theobromine and compared with the pattern obtained by subsequent Fursemide injection. Data indicate an additive Fursemide effect on the proximal tubule and a distal effect not observed by mercury application.

Zusammenfassung Stop-flow-Untersuchungen an sechs Hunden ergaben nach i.v.-Applikation von 1 mg/kg Körpergewicht Fursemid eine starke Hemmung der proximalen und distalen Wasser- sowie Natriumrückresorption und eine gesteigerte distale Kaliumsekretion. Im Vergleich zu Quecksilberdiuretica bestand ein unterschiedlicher Effekt im proximalen und distalen Tubulus.
