Zusammenfassung Das seit April 1978 in der postoperativen Überwachung der Behandlung von gefäßchirurgischen Risikopatienten eingesetzte rechnergestätzte Überwachungssystem integrierte eine umfangreiche Patientenverwaltung und Dokumentation, eine kontinuierliche Monitorenüberwachung vitaler Funktionen mit gleichzeitiger graphischer Darstellung ihrer 8h-Verläufe und eine komplexe Arrhytmieerkennung. Durch die simultane Überwachung mehrerer Patienten wird das Intensivpflegepersonal entlastet und die postoperative Behandlung durch rascheres Erkennen von auftretenden Störungen und genauere Steuerbarkeit therapeutischer Maßnahmen sicherer und komplikationsärmer.

Summary The computer-assisted monitoring system used for the postoperative care of highrisk patients in vascular surgery since April 1978, integrates facilitated patient management and documentation, continuous monitoring and graphing of vital parameters over an 8-h-period and complex arrhythmia detection. For the nursing staff, patient care is made easier by simultaneous monitoring of several patients. Because of immediate detection of complications proper treatment is initiated earlier and postoperative care is made safer.
