Notes:
Summary In 433 cervical biopsies lymphadenitis, metastases of malignant tumors and of the haematologic system could be found first of all. In 4.8 % complications needed a further treatment, firstly trouble in wound healing (haematoma, inflammation), secondly neurological complications of the accessorial nerve. These complications receded in 4 patients completely, in one patient a paralysis of the deltoid muscle continued. The analysis of our patients suggested that unsuitable anaesthesia (local anaesthesia) for deeper-seated, badly demarked tumors is responsible for most of the complications.
